- The association was formed in 1998 by Ann Harding with Beth Greaves and Patricia Meades assisting.
- The branch started with 35 people. Now we have a membership of over 200.
- In 2002 there were 16 groups. Now there are 36. To see the wide range of interests covered follow this link to our Groups page.
- Our group leaders all come from within the membership. No qualifications are necessary just interest and enthusiasm.
- We are always looking to start new groups so if you have some ideas, any suggestions are welcome.
- The annual membership fee is £12 with small extra costs depending on the type of group and the venue.
- We usually meet in members' houses except where more space or special equipment is needed. Details of location are given in the group description.
- There is a monthly meeting at the Ramblers' Clubhouse on the first Thursday of the month at 2p.m, usually with a guest speaker, followed by a drink and a chat and exchange of news.
